The Wyoming Department of Insurance now allows insurance license candidates to schedule exams online by testing Pearson VUE and its OnVUE online monitoring service.
The online tests will start on March 2nd.
“The weather and the great distances in our state can sometimes make it difficult for some Wyomingites to travel to exam centers,” licensing director Bryan Stevens said in a statement. “With online monitoring, candidates no longer have to leave their homes to take their exams. Our goal was to make exams as convenient for residents of Greybull and Lander as they are for residents of Laramie and Casper. “
Pearson VUE’s OnVUE Online Proctoring allows candidates to take license exams from home. Candidates provide their own computer and private room to take the exam. OnVUE uses artificial intelligence in conjunction with live monitoring via the webcam and microphone.
“This is a permanent change in the availability of our license exams,” said Stevens. “With the proliferation of the technology we need and the vast expanse of Wyoming, we believe remote surveillance is a solution that perfectly meets the needs of our residents.”
