FRESNO, CA. (KMJ) – Bullard High School’s baseball program was hit by thieves over the weekend.
Someone cut the lock on the C-Train storage box and stole thousands of dollars in turf and baseball equipment.
Some of the items stolen included lawn mowers, an aerator, pitching machine, buckets of baseball, and other baseball equipment.
At the time the theft was reported to Fresno Police, there was no coaching staff available, so the list of stolen items is pending.
The Bullard Baseball Foundation and her family released a Go Fund Me for the team to replace what they say is worth $ 14,000.
The Bullard Baseball JV and Varsity teams play in Madera South on Tuesday from 3:30 pm
The group says Mike Noake’s field is privately run by friends and family of the program who donate their time.
It is said that Jim Sandrini donated his time to mow the lawn at least three times a week for over 20 years.
Our team lives on donations and since Covid has affected our personal fundraising drives, the theft is a major blow.
The group hopes to raise enough money to replace equipment and maintain the baseball field.
