The Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law “On amendments to the Ukrainian law” on state regulation of the production and sales of ethyl, cognac and fruit alcohol, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, liquids used in electronic cigarettes and fuel “in relation to the storage of Fuel Licensing “No. 5242-1 of March 30, 2021 (the “Bill“).
Under current legislation, companies (especially agricultural producers) must be granted a license to store fuel for their own consumption. The law provides for a fine of 500,000 UAH for storing fuel without obtaining such a license.
However, the draft law proposes to abolish the authorization of the storage of fuel for companies that store fuel for their own consumption and to set the fine for storing fuel without a license at UAH 78,000. The draft law also provides for postponing the application of sanctions for the storage of fuel without a license.
According to the authors of the bill, it will eliminate excessive overregulation of the activities of commercial enterprises that only store fuel for their own consumption.
We are monitoring the status of the bill and will provide information on its further examination.
