CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Corpus Christi city council members approved the purchase of some new road maintenance equipment.
The equipment includes a new motor grader that is used to flatten surfaces in sorting projects.
The existing motor grader is over 26 years old.
There will also be two living floor trailers that will be used to transport materials.
The two 26 yard trailers will replace two 7 yard dump trucks, allowing for more efficient and effective material handling and higher transport capacity.
In September, the city bought five living ground trailers, with the purchase of these two bringing the city’s total to seven.
The purchases combined cost over $ 450,000.
The money comes from the city’s equipment replacement fund.
