Fiscal year 20-21 is seen as unforgettable by the tractor and agricultural machinery industry. Despite the hurdles created by the Covid 19 pandemic, the tractor industry saw an incredible 27% year-over-year sales growth. It reflected the growing up of tractors and agricultural implements. This may reflect the role tractors and appropriate farm implements would play in ensuring the country maintains its advances in agricultural production.
Yesterday, April 23rd ’21, CEAT Specialty presented the most prestigious awards in the Indian tractor and agricultural equipment industry – the 2nd award for Indian Tractor of the Year (ITOTY). The winners of these significant awards, representing the highest product performance standards in this category, were presented with the trophies in the presence of industry veterans, visionaries, top managers and agricultural enthusiasts. In contrast to the usual award ceremony, the entire program was held online, with the moderators, the award winners and the honorable audience interacting virtually with one another.
Because of its great design and popularity, Sonalika Tiger 55 was named “Indian Tractor of the Year 2021” while Escorts Ltd was named “Farmtrac 60 PowerMaxx” as “Best Farm Tractor 2021”. In the Equipment category, “Shaktiman Square Baler 165” was awarded the “Machine of the Year 2021” award.
The ITOTY Awards 2021 are hosted by Tractor Junction. India leading digital marketplace for tractors and agricultural equipment. The event is judged by leading industry experts and customers through an unbiased and transparent voting process and is based on factors such as fuel efficiency, safety and performance, comfort, value for money, agricultural popularity, etc.

ITOTY judges have a diverse background in sales, product, marketing, testing, ergonomics of tractors and agricultural equipment. A total of 8 jury members from these different areas of the tractor industry bring almost 220 years of experience to the ITOTY jury.
The selection process for the winners was quite transparent and was based on a weighting of 60% of the jury members and 40% of the public votes. The voting process is clearly defined and the ITOTY constitution lays the foundation for the necessary rules to ensure a fair assessment. Each jury member must vote for at least three candidates from the final shortlist and can only allocate a total of 10 points to the tractors and agricultural implements that are voted for. And the juror is only allowed to select a clear winner who achieves the maximum number of points.
