GOLDEN TRIANGLE, miss. (WCBI) – More than $ 24 million in federal funding will flow to airports across Mississippi.
Recently, 26 facilities across the state received grants for the airport improvement program.
Golden Triangle Regional Airport will receive more than $ 790,000.
The funds help pay for aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicles.
The fire engine will help improve general security measures at GTRA and enable larger aircraft to be handled at the airport in the future.
“It is very important that whatever we have to respond to an emergency is 100 percent capable and operational. The newer vehicle gives us the reliability we need to keep everyone safe and sound travel from here. ” said Mike Hainesy, GTRA Executive Director.
Louisville-Winston County Airport will receive over $ 288,000 to install weather reporting equipment.
